Here’s what you need to know about the rise of non-invasive treatments

We all know the beauty industry has seen many changes in the past twenty years. From trendy hairstyles like ‘the Rachel’ (if you don’t know what this is, good for you) to invasive plastic surgery’s (think Joan Rivers) and now the latest, non-invasive treatment trend surge. Of all of these trends, some were thankfully short lived while others have the potential to go on for decades, and we’re okay with that.

According to figures from The Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia, Australians spent more than $773 million on ‘non-invasive’ cosmetic procedures in 2012 and it’s only going up from there. The numbers speak volumes, if you’re not already offering your clients non-invasive cosmetic procedures, then it’s a good idea to start now.

We all know how difficult it is to feel your best every day. Sometimes, you just need a little boost and the same goes for your clients. Everyone has a ‘trouble spot’ or an area that they are particularly self-conscious about so why not offer them a safe, non-invasive solution to their problems?

So what exactly do we mean by ‘non-invasive’? Clients who are looking for non-invasive treatments are often looking for a treatment that does not require any type of incision into the body whilst still delivering the desired effect.

Some of the most popular treatments are microdermabrasion and laser. These non-invasive treatments allow clients to be treated in a few sessions and up and running shortly after with little to no downtime, but lots of results.

Of those Australian’s who spent money on non-invasive cosmetic procedures back in 2012, a whopping 96.7% of them were female and most between the ages of 20-40. The fact is, these demographics are likely describing your ideal target market. So the question is, if you’re not already offering these non-invasive treatments to help your current (and potential) clients, then why not start?

If you decide to try your hand at non-invasive treatments we can help you get started. We’ll work with you to determine your exact target market, what type of machine is going to work best for them and your business. Whether you’re primarily concerned about ease of use, ROI or interested in one specific treatment type, we will help you to get exactly what you’re after. With thorough training, business and marketing support there’s nothing standing between you and the absolutely exploding business of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

How to treat your acne now!

As we all know, the holiday season is upon us. It’s an impossible fact to escape, every store you walk into already has Christmas products displayed, holiday party invitations have been mailed and you’re likely already putting together your shopping list. While this is a celebratory time of year, it’s also incredibly stressful. And with stress often comes troublesome acne and sometimes that acne stays, long term. Whether you’re an adult or a teenager, bright red pimples are not an exciting prospect. But how can you clear up acne? As it turns out there is a solution other than just the typical over the counter topical facial creams.

LED Light Therapy is the solution to end all solutions and the best part about it is, it’s a safe treatment for both adult and teen acne! Even if stress isn’t the cause, there are plenty of other reasons you or your teen may be suffering: hormones, certain prescriptions, diet and yes of course stress.

With LED Light Therapy acne treatment our machines are able to treat the specific areas that are causing you trouble and leave the unaffected area alone thus creating clear and healthy skin. In order to get the best results from LED Light Therapy, your therapist will likely apply a blue light treatment to kill all bacteria in your pores. Once this is complete they will then apply the red light treatment, which initiates cell renewal and the healing process, in the end leaving you feeling refreshed and beautiful.

The essential components to any successful treatment are that it’s safe, effective and leaves you feeling as great and as confident as you should. If acne treatment is the question, then LED Light Therapy is the answer.

Each treatment will differ and before you begin your program your practitioner will work with you to develop the best course of treatment. Typically treatments are more frequent at the start of therapy and then together with your practitioner, you will develop a maintenance program that helps to keep your newly-cleared skin acne free ongoing.

Treat Your Skin Discolouration Today

Stop worrying and start acting! How to treat your skin discolouration today!

There are a lot of wonderful benefits to ageing; increased wisdom, more self confidence, higher pay grades, family status and so forth but with all of these wonderful pluses, there are also a handful of downsides. Wrinkle prevention is something we’ve all been taught since a young age. Nightly face cream application is something most girls have witnessed their mother doing by the ripe old age of 10, so yeah, you get it.

But what about when the problem isn’t wrinkles, but instead dark spots? We never expected the thrill of dark brown splotches sprinkled across our faces. Okay maybe thrill is the wrong word? Should we instead say, dismay? Or maybe just confusion? Either way, we just didn’t expect it.

Hyper pigmentation is something that is incredibly common and can come in a variety of different forms. Whether it’s sunspots or freckles, dark patches or uneven skin tone, it’s real, but skin discolouration treatment is always available.

Before we solve the problem however, it’s always a good idea to try to prevent it in the first place. If you’re prone to dark spots or your parents currently suffer from them, you definitely want to be sun smart. For dark spot prevention you should always use the recommended SPF amount, anytime you are spending an extended amount of time outdoors. Even on cloudy days! Put it this way, no one ever says, ‘I wish I hadn’t worn sunscreen’.  Right? Right.

If you’re not interested in prevention and just want a solution there are treatments out there for you. At Spectrum we provide a selection of equipment for skin discolouration treatment. All treatments are non-invasive procedures. By using intense pulsed light we’re able to specifically target the pigmented area and treat only that spot while leaving the surrounding skin untouched.

Clinics that use our equipment will always work with you to create a treatment plan that will typically be comprised of 5 separate sessions spaced out over 8-12 weeks apart.  If you’re worried about pain, it typically feels like a sunburn, but if you’re still concerned your therapist will recommend a topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment.
