Body Contouring

Contouring and Tightening of Body and Face

In recent years the beauty and aesthetic industry has seen considerable growth in minimally or non-invasive body shaping and contouring treatments with demand continuing to rise.

Non-surgical treatments are attracting clients due to significant outcomes, patient safety, reduced treatment time and recovery time. One of the newest fat reduction technologies is radiofrequency, which delivers energy to the areas of fat by driving controlled heat deep within the fat cells. With major growth expected within this sector of the industry it is the perfect time to introduce contouring and tightening treatments to a beauty clinics menu.

The leading technology can offer treatments for the following indications in the one machine:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Skin tone
  • Laxity
  • Body contouring,
  • Skin tightening
  • Cellulite

The Body Contouring equipment from Spectrum has numerous competitive advantages including patient comfort level, clinically proven results, ergonomic handpieces for the operator’s comfort. In this article we will make references to the Alma Reform, which promotes a high return on investment (ROI)due to its variety of applicators which enable both body and face treatments to all areas such as thighs, abdomen, arms, flanks, jaw and décolleté. Additionally the simple operation and ergonomic lightweight applicators make treatments simple to learn and perform, and easy to delegate to staff.

The Alma Reform yields both short and long term benefits that include immediate skin tightening and glow, as well as restructuring of the skin’s architecture. These benefits ensure long term visible results and help to bolster the skin against future aging.

Re Collagen Lifts and Tightens Loose Skin

  • Contracts existing fibers
  • Stimulates the formation of new collagen, improving its alignment and thickness
  • Improves texture for a youthful glow

Reduced Fat Cell Volume and Improved Cellulite Appearance

  • Releases fatty acids, preventing fat cells from accumulating (causing bumps and dimples)
  • Accelerates the lymphatic drainage to evacuate toxins from the tissue

The Reform offers beauty clinics multiple technologies in the one machine

Patented UniPolar™ Technology
Unipolar™ technology uses dielectric heating – focused and powerful heating – a unique technology that transmits high radiofrequency energy directly to the targeted tissue via a single electrode. Delivering this focused energy up to 20 mm deep creates a rapid rotation of water molecules within the skin, causing friction and generating deep, effective and safe dermal heating without discomfort.

Heat is produced deep within the skin’s tissue, addressing varying anatomical structures and locations, while targeting fat cells and collagen fibers. The result includes a re-collagen effect, which lifts and tightens the skin, as well as reduced fat cell volume, which contours the shape and improves the visibility of cellulite.

CoaxiPolar Technology
CoaxiPolar is focused on the Face. Suitable for facial treatments and using a coaxial electrode which transmits up to 6 mm deep. Its ergonomic, lightweight design and integrated thermometer enables easier use. It features an automatic temperature reading (C° or F°), making treatments faster and more efficient.

Micropeel
Micro Perforation for Skin Rejuvenation. This very small applicator provides micro perforation of the skin, using unique Microplasma™ technology. Micro perforates and gently removes the outer layer of skin and enables the removal of superficial pigmentation, revealing more vital, smoother skin with a vibrant glow.

Additionally, microplasma uses electromagnetic pulses to produce plasma sparks and create micro channels within the skin. This effect enables a direct path to the skin tissue to successfully deliver all types of cosmetic formulations for enhanced results. With micro perforation the surrounding skin remains undamaged, which aids in rapid healing.
We would highly recommend you to take a look at the Alma Reform to take advantage of the major growth that is expected in the contouring and tightening sector. If you are interested in further information on the Reform click the link below:

The Summer Body Dreams are Made of

Summer is just around the corner now, which means it’s about the time everyone starts panicking about how to achieve that beautiful beach body they’ve only ever dreamed of. It can be overwhelming thinking of how many days are between us and a bikini clad beach life. Yeah, it’s sneaking up and it’s time to put a game plan in place. Your clients should feel great and confident this summer and here’s how you can help them:

1. Consider a summer body campaign. It’s much easier if you get the whole salon involved, so why not offer a summer special where they can treat themselves to a treatment at a discount or work towards a goal together. It’s all about creating some excitement for your clients and your staff.

2. Encourage healthy choices. Yeah, yeah we know you’re not their nutritionist and you should never recommend it but it’s always appreciated to offer healthy alternatives. This could be as simple as offering a skinny latte or juice alternative to a heavy milk or cream coffee. Healthy habits make a huge difference!

3. Encourage Exercise. We certainly don’t mean offering unsolicited advice to your clients about their exercise routine! We were thinking a little outside of the box, perhaps going for a group yoga session or bringing a zumba instructor into your salon for a weekend class. It’s a fun exercise and way for your clients to start working towards their summer body goals and it’s a great non-traditional marketing tool for your business.

4. Develop a package offering. Create a list of recommended treatment packages for clients. If your clients are concerned about being bikini ready then a sample package could include a manicure/pedicure, facial, haircut and light therapy treatment. The Spectrum Contour uses infra-red light, RF vacuum and massage rollers to literally melt away fat and cellulite.

If you’re interested in learning how to offer your customers Light Therapy Treatments fill out an enquiry form and one of our friendly staff will assist you.

If you’re a client and want to find out where you can get a light therapy treatment that will actually melt away fat and cellulite, find a practitioner in your area here.

Industry News

Give the people what they want!

Our team at Spectrum are passionate about delivering superior quality service to each of our clients. As part of this commitment we endeavour to provide you with only the latest and greatest news in the beauty industry.

While we aren’t planning on telling you what lipstick colours are hot for spring (hot pinks and corals, ladies) we do want to provide you with useful facts and information that can potentially make a difference to your bottom line.

In The States for example, a recent study was conducted to look further into a rise in plastic surgery, where one in three surgeons saw a 30% increase in business.  The study showed that many clients who were considering plastic surgery where doing so due to social media’s influence.

There are even entire books being released with nothing but celebrity ‘selfies’. No content, just photos (we’re looking at you Kim Kardashian). In such an environment, it’s no wonder people are feeling the pressure to look great in photos. And if it’s happening in the US you can bet it’s happening right here. You can’t even walk through the shops without narrowly avoiding being hit by a selfie stick anymore.

If your clients (or you) are feeling insecure about their looks, there are way less invasive options for them to consider than typical plastic surgery. Now is the time to provide them with simpler, safer options! Whether it’s acne, wrinkles, cellulite, skin tone, scarring or stretch marks, odds are that there is a simple, safe procedure you can add to your product offering to assist them.

At the end of the day, it’s all about bringing your customers exactly what they want in an effective and simple way. If you don’t yet have the ability to deliver these options at your salon, clinic or practice, contact our friendly team today. We can walk you through the options available to make sure you’ve got what your customers already want.

Cosmoprof HK – November 2014 review

From our Managing Director:

There were hundreds of companies from all over the world attending and show casing their equipment at Cosmoprof between 11-13 November 2015. This included leading European, American and Asian companies with specialised expertise and products in their respected domains.

I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss technology, the latest trends in the market, working on solutions to improve our equipment as well as working with experts on treatment techniques to improve clinical effectiveness. During Cosmoprof I received invitations from leaders in the industry to visit them in Europe to further review new technology and research from experts. I will be visiting them in March with

On the beauty side

Fractional RF (radio frequency) equipment was a major trend with huge consumer demand expected going forward. The key takeaway on this device is that there is a big difference between the range of equipment available and it was confirmed that the most effective machines offer both non-invasive as well as invasive treatments (because a combination of the two produce the most effective results).

Additionally that for optimal safety and clinical effectiveness that machine treatment tips have 49 gold plated pins. It was nice to confirm our Dana Explore could be compared favourably to the best machines in this area.

On the medical side

We saw some very interesting new equipment including vaginal rejuvenation machines. This was timely for Spectrum because we have been working with our partners on developing a leading machine for these treatments, which is just about to be released to market in Australia.

Ongoing demand in Body

Body contouring and slimming equipment was again a huge trend. There was a vast number of different technologies in this area from radio frequency, laser lipolysis, fat cavitation, pulsed magnetic fields, cryolipolysis to name a few. We spent an extensive amount of time reviewing and discussing these devices because it is a treatment area we have been researching, reviewing and developing over the last couple of years so that we can bring a machine to market. This will be a key focus of my trip to Europe in March so watch this space for a innovative machine with leading technology that works.
